Brand-Confusion

  1. The Liberal Party of Canada in BC is not the BC Liberal Party.
  2. The BC Liberal Party is not the Liberal Party of Canada in BC.
  3. These are distinct and different political organizations concerned with different orders of government
  4. Neither organization is in any way affiliated with the other.

Liberal Party of Canada in BC

LPC Logo

The Liberal Party of Canada in BC is a federal political organization that is a regional component of the Liberal Party of Canada.  It is associated with the region that comprises the Province of British Columbia.

The Liberal Party of Canada in BC is concerned with Canadian federal political matters.

BC Liberal Party

The BC Liberal Party is a strictly provincial political organization, concerned with BC provincial political matters.

It is distinct from and is not affiliated with the Liberal Party of Canada in BC, nor the Liberal Party of Canada itself.

Intersecting Membership

There are certainly many BC residents who are members of the provincial party and not the federal one, and vice versa, and there are of course individuals who are members of both.

But there are many, many members of the BC Liberal Party who are in fact, members of the Conservative Party of Canada!

This intersecting membership establishes at least as much a connection between the BC Liberal Party and the Conservative Party of Canada (CPC) as to the Liberal Party of Canada itself, and perhaps even more.
